Carlos Martingo will take control of the handball team until the end of this season, after Lars Walther resigned

Swedish coach Magnus Andersson will be the coach of the FC Porto handball team starting in 2018/19, after signing a contract valid for two seasons. Last season, leading the German team of Goppingen, the 51 years old coach won the EHF Cup, after facing, and beating, the Dragons in the group stage.

Magnus Andersson became a coach in 2001, after a successful career as a player, having won the world title twice and the European title four times, also counting on three silver medals won at the Olympics.

Until his arrival, Carlos Martingo will be the interim coach, after Lars Walther and assistant coach Luís Graça agreed on terminating the contract binding them to FC Porto. The coach currently leading Avanca will then join the team led by Magnus Andersson as assistant coach.
