Venezuelan international defender comes to FC Porto on a loan from Tondela until the end of the season
Yordan Osorio is a reinforcement until the end of the season, on a loan from Tondela, and FC Porto set a release fee in the contract signed this Wednesday. The 23 year old Venezuelan defender is ready for the challenge of representing a “great club” and being able to help the “currently best Portuguese team” to win titles. This is one of his biggest goals, but not the only one: Osorio wants to deserve the confidence of the coach and to pay back the confidence placed in him.
“I am very happy to be at this great club, this great team. I’m truly happy, as we all know this is currently the best Portuguese team”, the new number 4 stated, for whom “the secret to get here” was the work he has been showing since arriving in Portugal about a year ago, also in winter transfer window, to play in Tondela.
Osorio sees this as an opportunity to grow. “Now all I have left is to use it in the best way and show why I'm here. That is what I prepared for, for this type of challenges”, the central defender stated, arriving with the goal of “winning titles”, “becoming champion”. “I want to adapt as quickly as possible, start training and gain the confidence of the coach”, the Venezuelan star added, eager to help a team “that already has a lot of quality and that treats the ball well”, a characteristic he considers to be beneficial to his attributes.
Last season, at Tondela, the central defender played in 15 matches (14 in the starting team) and scored three goals, all decisive for the team's permanence in the Portuguese League. The good performances earned him the call to the Venezuelan national team, for whom he played twice already. This season, he played 11 matches for Tondela, all in the staritng team. It was the first experience in European football for a player that always played for Zamora, where he became champion in 2016.
