FC Porto presented the equipment for season 2018/19 at the D. João I Square

It was an afternoon/evening for the fans that went to D. João I Square, right in the heart of the city of Porto, to watch the already usual ceremony to present the kits for the new season (2018/19) of FC Porto.

The highlight of the event was saved for last, when the players of the several sports changed their respective pitches for the catwalk and took on the role of models. Before that, however, there was a lot to see and listen, in a show full of music, light and colour.

Everything started at around 18h00, when Tiago Nacarato opened the stage in front of a few hundred fans, who faced the heat early, to assure the best seat for the great moment of the end of the evening. Black Mamba were next, followed by We Find You and VIA, an alignment “sponsored” by the music festival MEO Marés Vivas, held between July 20 to 22.

But the highlight of the evening was the runway. Lights went out close to 22h00, and the FC Porto anthem kicked-off the ceremony. The stage was opened by more experienced models, such as Rúben Rua and Débora Monteiro, who gave the example and showed how it is done.

Alfredo Quintana, António Areia and Miguel Martins (handball), Telmo Pinto and Reinaldo García (roller hockey) and Pedro Bastos (basketball) represented the sports and went in just before the much awaited national champions.

Footballers Vaná, Óliver, Hernâni, Chidozie, André Pereira, Alex Telles and Aboubakar went on stage and made the delight of the thousands of fans that completed filled the D. João I Square, sealing another evening of perfect communion between the city, the club, and the fans. The farewell was made together, at the sound of a music that set the tone for the 28th title for FC Porto: “Azul e Branco é o coração” [Blue and white is the heart], by Alberto Índio.
