With an own goal from Skipp (30m) and another from Santiago Irala (40m), the Under19 team went to England beat Tottenham, 2-0, in a match played this Tuesday, for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Youth League. This means that, for the first time, the Dragons qualified to the final stage of the competition, which will be held in Nyon, Switzerland, where they will face the winner of the match opposing Real Madrid and Chelsea, which will be played this Wednesday.

At the Training Centre of Tottenham, the first-half was balanced, with a slight advantage for the blue and whites, especially after the first 20 minutes. That superiority was materialized 30 minutes in: Paulo Estrela took the corner-kick, Diogo Leite headed the ball, and Skipp, trying to save it, ended up putting it in his own goal.

Winning, the team led by João Brandão gained confidence, took control of the match, and scored again, by Santiago Irala: receiving the pass from Madi Queta, the Paraguayan forward made it count in front of Brandon Austin (40m), setting the result that reached halftime.

The British team returned to the second-half with two changes, assuming a more offensive posture, but failed to created opportunities to score, as they had many issues in beating the blue and white defence. The Dragons, on their end, managed to create danger whenever they went close to the opposing goal, having the most obvious goal situation in, but Austin saved Madi Queta’s shot (71m).
