FC Porto Fidelidade assured the 6-2 victory against SCRA Saint-Omer

FC Porto Fidelidade started the EuroLeague in the best possible way, by beating SCRA Saint-Omer, 6-2, at the Pavilhão Municipal de Vila Praia de Âncora. The Dragons, finalists in the last edition of the competition, got their first three points in Group C.

Gonçalo Alves opened the scoreboard eight minutes in, and then put the team back on top still before the break, as the French team was able to tie the match. Playing at a loaned home, as Dragão Caixa was banned for a match, FC Porto Fidelidade would start improving performance and increased the advantage in the second-half, with goals scored by Reinaldo García (26m and 48m), Giulio Cocco (36m) and Rafa (43m).

“We defended well, but truth is that we had a hard time creating danger situations in the attack. We still need to work on a few things, so that our offensive fluidity improves. Overall, it’s a positive balance and we got the three points. We really want to win this title and so does the club, but, for that to happen, we need to work hard”, Guillem Cabestany explained.

For matchday 2 of Group C of the EuroLeague, the team led by Guillem Cabestany is going to Spain to face Reus (November 17, 16h00). For now, the focus moves again to the National Championship, with FC Porto Fidelidade facing Juventude de Viana for matchday 2, in Viana do Castelo, on Wednesday (21h30).
