Mexican winger aimed for the “three important points” in the home match against the Russian champions
Jesús Corona sat next to coach Sérgio Conceição for the preview of the match opposing FC Porto and Lokomotiv Moscow, for matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League (Tuesday, 20h00). The Mexican international, scorer of the third goal in the victory in Russia (3-1), stated that the team must face this match “as another final”, stating the importance of the three points, not just to fight for the Round of 16, but also to continue the good moment the Dragons are going through - five matches, five victories.
Three important points
“We are in the fight for the qualification. We have to get the three points, which are truly important not just for the qualification to the Round of 16, but also to continue the winning streak we are going through in the last matches.”
A final
“We need to think of this match as another final, each match has to be seen like that. We know Lokomotiv is coming here motivated, but we are motivated to get the three points as well.”
In the starting team
“I have been working like all my teammates, the coach has been giving me opportunities. You always hear that you need to work to grab the opportunity when it comes. That was my posture: work to be in the starting team. I hope to continue like this.”
Moving back to fullback
“I’m not upset at all. We all need to be prepared to help the team. If I have to play as central defender, I will.”
The much desired regularity
“Irregularity has always been a problem of mine. I’m here with passion, because football is what I like. I hope to be more consistent this season. I’m going through a moment of tranquillity in my personal life, my family is well, my daughter is coming. That tranquillity allows me to be calm on the pitch.”
