Sérgio Conceição paid his respects to the family of Emiliano Sala, after the victory in the classic, against Benfica (3-1) for the Final Four of the League Cup

FC Porto beat Benfica thisTuesday (3-1), in Braga, and assured a seat in the final of the League Cup. After the victory, Sérgio Conceição didn’t say much about the match, taking the chance to show his sympathy to the family of Emiliano Sala, an Argentinian player he led at Nantes, declared missing this morning.

Maturity ad high pressure
“Honestly, I’m not in the mood to talk of the match. I could talk of the maturity of my team. We used high pressure and forced their mistakes, and one of our goals was scored like this. Obviously, we allowed Benfica to move in the second-half, and scored by counter-attack. They had one or two chances in the second-half, caused by our mistakes, and we knew what they would try to do. But, honestly, I’m not in the mood to talk of the match. I could mention “bull fighting” and how we grabbed the bull by the horns, as you say in Portuguese, but I will not talk about that, as I respect Benfica.”

More important things
“My thoughts right now are with the family of Emiliano Sala, my player at Nantes. A fantastic kid. His family must be suffering a lot and so are my coaches, as we have a good relation with all the players and we received that news today.”
