FC Porto Fidelidade conceded a tie against SCRA Saint Omer (4-4), for matchday 5 of Group C of the EuroLeague

FC Porto Fidelidade qualified to the quarter-finals of the EuroLeague, after tying against SCRA Saint Omer (4-4), in France, for matchday 5 of the competition. The Dragons were winning 3-1 before the break, but the home team reacted in the second-half. Gonçalo Alves (1m), Rafa (12m and 42m) and Hugo Santos scored the blue and white goals.

The Dragons started the match pretty much in the lead. In less than ten seconds, after a quick attack, Gonçalo Alves opened the scoreboard (1m) in the first shot of the match. The blue and whites increased the advantage on minute 12, by Rafa, scoring close to the goal, after a play that involved four players.

Trying to react, SCRA Saint Omer aimed at counter-attacking, but the Dragons were the ones to score again, by Hugo Santos, from a free-hit (23m). In the last seconds of the first-half, the home team reduced. Also from a free-hit (25m), Marçal Cuenca volleyed the ball straight at goal, with Carles Grau powerless to stop it.

Moralized with the goal, the home team returned to the second-half with confidence. Thirty minutes in, Marçal Cuenca reduced and, seven minutes later (37m), Mathieu Le Roux tied the match again. Rafa (42m) scored his second goal and put the blue and whites in the lead again, but the scoreboard would only be closed two minutes before the end (48m), with the penalty converted by Jacobo Mantiñan.

FC Porto returns to the championship next Wednesday, February 20, to face Benfica, a match with live broadcast in Porto Canal, starting at 20h30.
