Sérgio Conceição was pleased with the performance of the team in the victory over Vitória de Setúbal (2-0), for matchday 22 of Liga NOS

This Saturday, FC Porto beat Vitória de Setúbal (2-0), at Estádio do Dragão, for matchday 22 of the championship, returning to victory after three consecutive matches without winning. By the end of the match, Sérgio Conceição praised the performance of the national champions, stating how important the result is, as it keeps the Dragons in the lead, now with 54 points.

Mobility, availability and balance
“These matches are always complicated. Setúbal had three matches with the new coaching team and they came to Estádio do Dragão with a different tactic, aiming at conditioning our plays and stopping us from crossing. We had a lot of movement and availability with the ball. We scored one in the first-half, but it could have been more, which would calm us down. We knew that something we didn’t want could happen at any time, so we kept looking for the second. When we got it, we aimed for the third. Iker didn’t make a single save, and we were strong in the back, which is good. It was a positive match and three important points for our goal.”

Every player is important
“Everyone in the group is important. We are the team that has the best results from substitutions. That shows our spirit. We did well in our reaction when losing the ball, something important for our tactic. It’s not easy to play in just 30 or 40 metres. We played from the middle, from the wings, we created opportunities and we won. Congratulations to the players.”

Wilson Manafá in the starting team
“Manafá came from Portimonense and needs time to get to know the processes of the team. He has quality and is here to help. It’s up to me to decide if he plays or not, but that depends on many things. Everything is analysed. I won’t change something just because a couple of commentators tell me to. I’ll change when I think I should.”

Danilo injured
“We’re not sure how serious it is. We have a few casualties, but we feel well and we have many people eager to help the team.”
