The blue and white players praised the strength of the defence and the team work in the victory over Vitória de Setúbal (2-0), for matchday 2 of the League

This Saturday, FC Porto beat Vitória de Setúbal (2-0), for matchday 22 of the championship. After the match, Manafá (MVP), Alex Telles and Herrera praised the defensive work of the blue and whites, which allowed to dominate the match from start to end.

Manafá
“I work every day to get an opportunity. Fortunately, I got that opportunity tonight and we won. FC Porto always plays to win. The team didn’t back down and got the victory. It wasn’t difficult to be in the team, as my teammates have been helping me since I got to the club, integrating me in the squad. This was my first match in the starting team and everything was easier thanks to my teammates.”

Alex Telles
“I am happy with my performance, but happier with the victory. The group needed it, as we didn’t win the last three matches. We showed our fans we are confident. What mattered was to win, and we go home with that achieved. We are here to help FC Porto and to give our best, so that we can win every match. There wasn’t much danger next to our goal, we showed balance and defensive strength, something that the coach really wanted to see. Manafá arrived and immediately showed he has quality. Regardless of who plays on the right, the group knows the play will handle it. That proves we are united and that we are going all the way to win the title, our objective.”

Herrera
“We knew we had some not so positive results recently, so we had to win tonight. To stay in the lead, we had to give a positive response. The team went in well, played a good match and got the three points. We have been afflicted by injuries, but the group is strong. Those who play, play well and help the team, which shows the great family and group we are. We hope Danilo’s injury isn’t serious. Óliver went in well, as always, as he has a lot of quality. Everyone works to help the team when they are called. We don’t look at other teams, we are focused on our work and our objectives.”
