FC Porto is losing in the Round of 16 of the Champions League against Roma, after the 2-1 defeat in Italy, but Sérgio Conceição is confident for the second leg of the match against the Italian team, scheduled for Wednesday (20h00) at Estádio do Dragão. The coach is convinced that the team has a good chance of qualifying to the quarter-finals, if the team remains true to the style of play.

The importance of managing the advantages in the matches
“We have to stay balanced in the match, we have to want to win without rushing it, with defensive consistency. We need to understand their strengths, as they’re the third best attack in Serie A and they have very strong players in the attack. Balance will be fundamental.”

“Confidence isn’t about having one player or another, it’s about the work we do every day. In the last few matches, apart from the last one, I have been using players that haven’t played as much and it has been working.”

“Every match is different and every match has its own story. It’s always important to have more than one solution, but the important thing is the work we have to do according to our characteristics and that didn’t happen in the last match. If we remain true to ourselves, we have a great chance of qualifying.”

“We’re prepared for a tough match. Regardless of the more defensive posture of the Italian teams, what matters is that we have to create goal situations and be effective. Roma are defending a favourable result, we understand that and because of this situation we will play accordingly. We have to be even more aggressive if we're not creating an attacking plays.”
