Brahimi, Marega and Herrera scored in the 3-0 away victory over Portimonense, for matchday 29 of Liga NOS

This Saturday, FC Porto beat Portimonense (3-0), in Algarve, for matchday 29 of Liga NOS. Brahimi (15m), Marega (73m) and Herrera (90m+3) were the scorers for the Dragons, who now have 72 points and, on condition, are in the lead of the championship, waiting for the outcome of the match Benfica-Vitória de Setúbal.

The positive start for the national champions broke the home team’s resistance 15 minutes in: Corona passed to Marega and the Malian did a back pass for Brahimi to shoot, giving no chances to Ricardo Ferreira. The team from Algarve reacted well to the disadvantage and created danger with Lucas Fernandes, first in a direct free-kick saved by Casillas (19m) and then trying a direct corner-kick (19m). Aylton Boa Morte also tried, but the shot went over the bar (30m).

Taking advantage of the attacking positioning of the team led by António Folha, FC Porto aimed at finding the spaces open in the opposing defence, but the last pass wasn’t always good. The break came without any more goals and the one scored by Brahimi made all the difference at halftime. Shortly after the resume of the match, Marega had the chance to score the second, but Ricardo Ferreira saved it (49m).

But the second attempt was successful. When the time was already becoming dangerous given the minimum advantage, Alex Telles launched Marega to glory. With plenty of style, the number 11 lobbed Ricardo Ferreira, with his eft foot, and brought more comfort to the blue and white family (73m). In stoppage time, from a corner-kick, the home goalkeeper did a good save to the header from Éder Militão, but was powerless to stop Herrera, setting the final 3-0 (90m+3).
