The FC Porto players were expecting difficulties against Santa Clara, for matchday 30 of the League, and praised the importance of the three points won this Saturday at Estádio do Dragão (1-0).

“We knew it would be difficult. Coming from a match for the Champions League is always complicated. We were prepared for a difficult match and that’s what we found. What mattered tonight was to win the three points and keep fighting for the championship. Usually, we create many goal opportunities, but we weren’t efficient tonight. Now we have to rest, prepared for the end of the championship and find the necessary strength to become champions. We will prepare the last four matches of the championship in the best possible way. We have to win these four matches and then check what happens.”

“I know Santa Clara well, and I knew the difficulties we would find. We played a good match and it’s important to not slip-up and get the three points. The group is well and there are five finals to go. Five matches to fight for two titles and we want to win all of them and get the two titles. We feel the fans also believe and the group is focused on winning the last five matches.”
