New trend for season 2019/20

Inspired by the vibrant colours of the tickets for the final of the 2003 UEFA Cup, FC Porto and New Balance present the away kit for season 2019/20. This is part of the new collection “United Dragons” for the upcoming season, and it promises to bring the fans even closer throughout the season.

This is a kit to be worn mainly in away matches, and it pays homage to one of the most renowned matches in the history of FC Porto: the final in Seville, won over Celtic Glasgow, 3-2.

The “lemon chrome” yellow, predominant in the equipment, was chosen after the ticket for the final, something that will likely remain in the memory of all those who attended. A “snorkel” blue strip, from shoulder to shoulder, completes the shirt.

Created with the innovative NB Dry technology, the shirt is made of a fabric that absorbs sweat and helps players stay cool and dry until the final whistle.

The shorts, in the same colour, are made of a material that helps in flexibility and movement of the players. The kit is complete with blue and yellow socks, presenting padded areas and a technology that helps in ventilation, offering comfort and freshness to the players.

Jesus Corona has already tested the new away kit and loved the feeling: “As players, we are always looking forward for the new kits. It’s good to know that this year’s design is strong and vibrant. With this kit, we will be even more inspired to show our creativity and energy. We are looking forward to get on the pitch and show the new kit to the fans.”

Kenny McCallum, director of New Balance Football, explained the concept: “Our idea was to present a kit that offered the fans something different, while keeping a unique style, linked to the history of FC Porto. We were able to create something that honours a unique moment in the history of the club and we are anxious to see it in action”.
