Draw for the group stage was held this Thursday in Vienna (Austria)
FC Porto Sofarma will be facing HC Vardar (Macedonia), Telekom Veszprém HC (Hungary), PGE VIVE Kielce (Poland), HC Meshkov Brest (Belarus), HC Motor Zaporozhye (Ukraine), Montpellier Handball (France) and THW Kiel (Germany) in Group B in the handball Champions League, as determined by the draw held this Thursday, at the Erste Campus, in Vienna (Austria).
The national champions will go up against, among others, the winner of the last edition of the Champions League - HC Vardar - and the other finalist - Telekom Veszprém HC -, along with THW Kiel, who won the EHF Cup, as FC Porto was third in that competition.
The handball Champions League will be played by 28 teams, distributed in four groups. FC Porto is in one of the main groups, with eight teams, and there will be six spots to be taken for the next stages. The other groups have six teams, and two spots for the Round of 16.
The first matchday of the group stage is scheduled September 11 to 15, with the last matchday scheduled from February 26 to March 1, 2020.
