Japanese international star signed until 2024 and will wear the number 8

Shoya Nakajima is the newest reinforcement for FC Porto. The international Japanese forward, who played for Al-Duhail, from Qatar, last season, signed a contract valid for fice seasons, until 2024. This was the second signing today for FC Porto throughout this Friday, after Zé Luís.

Nakajima’s career started in Tokyo Verdi, from Japan, then moving to FC Tokyo, in 2014. On that year, he was loaned to Kataller Toyama, also from Japan. On the next season, the forward returned to FC Tokyo, and, after several performances for the Under22 and Under23 teams, he ended up establishing himself in the main squad.

The move to Europe came in season 2017/18, signing for Portimonense, first on a loan, and then officially at the start of the season. The forward scored 15 goals in 46 matches playing for Sporting de Braga, numbers that made him leave for Al-Duhail, on February2019.

Nakajima has already won two trophies: the Catar Cup, for Al-Duhail, and the Under23 Asian Cup, for Japan.
