Colombian international midfielder, 28, will wear the number 16
Matheus Uribe reinforces FC Porto and signed for four seasons, until 2023. The 28 years old midfielder played for Club América, from Mexico, since August, 2017, when he debuted for the main national squad of Colombia.
The Colombian international was born in Medellín on March 21, 1991, and grew up in the area of San Cristóbal. Matheus Uribe started being noticed at the youth teams of Envigado, next to another well-known player for blue and white fans: James Rodríguez.
When he was 19, the midfielder moved to Argentina, to play for Deportivo Español, then returning to Colombia to play for Envigado, Deportes Tolima and Atlético Nacional, where he won his first titles: the Colombian Cup, the Apertura League, the Libertadores Cup, and the South-American Supercup. América was next and more trophies, now in Mexican football: 2018 Apertura League, 2019 Clausura Cup and the title of Champion of Champions in 2019.
After his debut with the shirt of the main national Colombian team, in January 2017, against Brazil, the blue and white reinforcement has been taking a leading role for the cafeteros, having played the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 Copa América.
At FC Porto, he will wear the number 16.
