This Monday, FC Porto beat Paços de Ferreira (2-0), for matchday 12 of Liga NOS. Loum (18m) and Zé Luís scored the goals for the blue and whites, who are second in the table, with 31 points, two behind Benfica.
The first minutes were exciting for football fans and FC Porto starting feeling many difficulties to overcome the defensive organization Paços set up, but everything changed in a set piece: Alex Telles took the corner-kick on the right wing, and Loum jumped above everyone else and put the ball in, opening the scoreboard at Estádio do Dragão (18m)
In response, Hélder Ferreira put Marchesín to the test, but the Argentinian goalkeeper saved it, in what was the best attack for the opponent in the first-half On the other side of the pitch, Otávio found Marega in front of goal, but the Malian was too accurate and hit the post (35m). It was the last true attempt in a first-half that was clearly dominated by FC Porto.
The second-half wasn’t as exciting and there was even a penalty on Otávio (53m), but still offered the best moment of the match, with Zé Luís receiving and controlling the ball and then shooting for goal, in a superb move (76m). The goal needs to be watching in repeat. In stoppage time, Sérgio Oliveira also hit the post, as referee Tiago Martins ended the match, Mission accomplished.
