Tondela held on to the tie for only ten minutes: Luis Díaz opened to Tecatito Corona on the right wing and the Mexican international crossed for Soares to head it in, in a textbook move. A strong and objective start for FC Porto, who was able to keep the opponent away from Marchesín for most of the match. Tondela is a hard team to face by tradition, but, this time, the Dragons were able to make the match easy from the start.

The blue and white advantage 30 minutes in, following a corner-kick taken by Alex Telles: Marega headed close to the near post and Soares picked it up right in front of goal, again using his head to score (32m). On the following play, Tondela almost scored, but the shot from João Pedro went outside the post a Marchesín kept a close eye on the ball (34m). The break came with the scoreboard set at 2-0 for FC Porto, clearly the better team in the first-half.

The second-half started with Matheus Uribe putting his aim to the test, but FC Porto wouldn’t take long to score again. In a brilliant attack, Corona placed Otávio in front of goal with a perfect pass, and the number 25 made it count against Cláudio Ramos (51m). FC Porto’s high pressure almost ended in a fourth goal, after the Dragons recovered the ball still in Tondela’s area, but Nakajima shot straight at the goalkeeper (60m).

Fábio Silva (78m), Soares (80m), and Alex Telles (89m) also came close to scoring, but the 3-0 remained until Manuel Oliveira signalled the end of the match. A great performance for FC Porto, in the return to victories for the championship, remaining 100% victorious at home, with zero goals conceded.
