Clear victory over Vitória de Setúbal, 4-0, for matchday 19 of Liga NOS, with goals scored by Tecatito Corona, Alex Telles, Soares and Luis Díaz

This Saturday, FC Porto beat Vitória de Setúbal (4-0), at Estádio do Bonfim, for matchday 19 of the championship. Tecatito Corona (38m), Alex Telles (44m), Soares (48m) and Luis Díaz (90m+1) were the scorers of the blue and white goals, with the Dragons now reaching 47 points, seven behind Benfica, first.

FC Porto went in strong at Bonfim, and quickly took over the defensive midfield of the home team, but, whenever the Dragons reached the area, there was always someone to help Makaridze. And when that didn’t happen, the Dragons were the ones missing by centimetres, like what happened to Otávio, eight minutes in, and to Soares, after a good play with Corona (26m). But there were so many attempts that one shot had to go in.

In a free-kick taken by Sérgio Oliveira, Corona made the best of a bad clearance, controlled the ball on his chest and shot with his left foot, beating the helpless Makaridze, who couldn’t do anything to stop the shot (38m). The blue and white superiority was even clearer when Alex Telles made it 2-0. Receiving a perfect pass from Sérgio Oliveira, the Brazilian fullback let his quality do the rest (44m).

The second-half couldn’t have started better for FC Porto, increasing the lead to 3-0 just three minutes in. After an attack started by Manafá on the right wing, Soares made the best with a bad clearance from Artur Jorge and dribbled Makaridze before shooting at the empty goal (48m). It was goal 61 for Soares for FC Porto, reaching the record of legends of the club: Kostadinov and Lucho González.

It should be said that the first dangerous play for Vitória de Setúbal came 65 minutes in, and Marchesín just had to control the movement of the ball shot by Carlinhos. But Carlinhos did force the Argentinian goalkeeper to the only noteworthy save he did in the entire match (85m). On the other end, Otávio hit the top bar (88m), but Luis Díaz made it count and scored the 4-0 in stoppage time (90m+1). Three matches against Vitória de Setúbal in 2019/20, three 4-0 victories for FC Porto.
