On the trip to Tondela, the leader of the championship won three important points, after a hard 3-1 victory, but fully deserved.

Aware of the responsibility of having only one goal, FC Porto went to Tondela to get the fourth consecutive victory and add three more points in the current edition of the championship. The blue and whites scored three goas in Beira Alta, all scored in the second-half. Danilo scored the first, Marega the second and Fábio Vieira the last one. In between, Tondela scored from a penalty and the always important duo Corona/Uribe was banned from the home match against Sporting, for the next round of Liga NOS. The Dragons left Estádio João Cardoso, for matchday 31, with a feeling of mission accomplished and the perception that they are one victory away - or three ties - from the much desired objective.

The fourth match before the end of the championship was a true final and that’s exactly how FC Porto faced the match. 12 minutes in, the blue and whites had the best chance in the first-half. Corona worked on the left, crossed straight at Moussa Marega, and the Malian headed with power and aim, but the goal was denied by Babacar Niasse. The goalkeeper was also able to prevent Soares from scoring from the spare. 26 minutes in, the Senegalese again saved another shot from the Dragons. After a free-kick taken by Sérgio Oliveira, the goalkeeper deflected the ball to the far end, and Mbemba shot at the angle. However, the gigantic Niasse, 1.95 metres, grabbed the ball. Until halftime, two bad news for Sérgio Conceição. With ten minutes to go, Sérgio Oliveira picked up an injury on the right thigh after hitting João Pedro, and had to be replaced. In the last five minutes before the break, referee Fábio Veríssimo showed a yellow card to Corona, banning the Mexican winger from the home match against Sporting for the next matchday.

As usual, the break did well to the blue and whites. On the second minute of the second-half, after a corner-kick taken by Alex Telles, captain Danilo - who replaced Sérgio Oliveira - jumped in the near post and pushed it in. The scoreboard was open for the visitors, in the usually complicated Estádio João Cardoso. Fifteen minutes later, Marega ran to the midfield to show how to recover a lost ball. The ball got to Corona, who returned it to the number 11, and, on the 20th assistance of the season, the winning combination worked again. In front of the goalkeeper, Marega chose to place the shot instead of using power and the goal was perfect. But even with the scoreboard at 2-0, the match was far from over. Sérgio Conceição removed Alex Telles, when he had already been shown a yellow card, and Soares, moved Manafá to the left of the defence and moved Corona back to right fullback, and sent in Fábio Vieira and Luis Díaz. In the last 20 minutes of the match, there was plenty of action. Matheus Uribe was shown the fifth yellow card in Liga NOS, and, on the next minute, tackled Jonathan Toro in the area. Marchesín guessed the where to move to in the penalty, but Ronan was still able to score and make it 1-2. Luis Díaz, though, was close to making it 3-1, after a cross from Corona on the right, but the Colombian was unable to get to the ball properly. For the last five minutes, Sérgio Conceição removed Uribe and sent in Diogo Leite, to strengthen the defence, but Marchesín was again called to action and held on to the blue and white advantage with the right foot. In stoppage time, Marega was tackled in the area by Philipe Sampaio. Fábio Veríssimo took his time, had to be called to reason by the VAR, and, after analysing the footage more than once, finally signalled the penalty. With the ball on the penalty spot, Fábio Vieira proved to be as calm and mature as a veteran and showed how to take a penalty. Three more goals, three more points for the men from Porto, who now have three matchdays to achieve the main objective of the season.
