Sérgio Oliveira stated the fairness of the blue and white victory in the derby against Boavista

After a clear 5-0 victory over the derby at Porto, FC Porto is in the lead of the championship, with six points and eight goals scored in the first two matchdays of the 2020/21 Liga NOS. The second-half for the blue and whites at Estádio do Bessa had a hand full of goals and Sérgio Oliveira saw it as “excellent”. The number 27 praised the physical superiority of the blue and whites, the “fair winners” of the match. “We are counting on everyone and the team should be praised. Now we need to think of Marítimo, the next match at home”, the midfielder, trained at FC Porto, stated.

Physically stronger
“We were physically stronger. We knew it would be a difficult match, and that was clear in the first-half, when we could have scored, but failed to do so. We went to the break, corrected some things, but our intensity remained and that made the difference.”

We had a great second-half
“It’s always important to score goals. The first goal calmed us down, we had a great second-half, with more ball possession, more occasions to score, and we deserved to win. There is nothing else to say.”

Three important points
“It was important to get the three points. I know their coach (Vasco Seabra) well, as he led the Under-19 at Paços de Ferreira when I played there. He works well, I wish him all the luck in the world, but what matters to me is this club. Like I said, what matters are the three points, and now we will face Marítimo for the next matchday.”

Congratulations to the group
“Knowing your teammates and where they will be to get the ball is great. I feel this is a strong group, and that those who just arrived will adjust well and that we have a long season ahead. We are counting on everyone and congratulations to the team. Now we need to think of Marítimo, the next match at home.”
