FC Porto ended Group C of the Champions League with an away victory over Olympiacos (2-0)

FC Porto ended Group C of the Champions League in the best possible way, after beating Olympiacos (2-0), in Athens, Greece, in matchday six. After the match, Diogo Costa talked about the “blue and white DNA”, captain Otávio praised the “beautiful match” and the “beautiful victory” of the team and Felipe Anderson praised the “excellent work” of the team, who finished Group C in the second place, with 13 points, three less than Manchester City.

Diogo Costa
“It was a match that showed our blue and white DNA. It was a match of great work and great sacrifice from everyone. In the back, I always try to help with what I see, because I see the entire pitch. I do what I can to help my colleagues and they help me. For us goalkeepers it’s always good to not concede, but for the team too, because everyone defends. When our DNA is there, we’re hard to beat.”

Otávio
“I’m very happy to have scored, but especially for the work of the team. We played a great match and we achieved a great victory. Congratulations to us all. The good results show the strength of our squad. The newcomers are welcome, just like the kids. We gave them tranquillity and everyone played well. The important thing now is to have the squad well and everyone available. Pepe is not only a captain on the pitch, but also outside of it. He’s always supporting us and passing on his experience to us. He talks from the outside and we can hear him in there.”

Felipe Anderson
“It is a great satisfaction to win a very difficult match. It was an excellent job from the entire team and we are to be congratulated. Scoring is always important for attackers, but what matters is that the team wins. The goal will come from work.”
