FC Porto players pleased with the victory over Nacional (2-0), at Estádio do Dragão, for matchday 10 of the League
This Sunday, FC Porto beat Nacional (2-0), at Estádio do Dragão, for matchday 10 of the championship. Sérgio Oliveira, scorer of the first goal, praised the good performance of the Dragons and guaranteed maximum ambition to win the Super Cup against Benfica, in a classic played in Aveiro, next Wednesday (20h45, RTP1). Diogo Leite and Matheus Uribe, on their hand, praised the importance of another victory of the blue and whites in the championship.
Diogo Leite
“We knew we had to go in strong. We managed to score two goals and we didn’t concede, which is always important. These are three important points in our path. It’s always a privilege and a pride to be the captain. The responsibility increases and I am very happy for this and for the victory.”
Sérgio Oliveira
“We were playing at home and we had to go in strong, as we wanted to settle the match as quickly as possible. We scored two goals and we could have scored more, but we did well in the match and managed the advantage we built. In the last match, we conceded in the first shot on goal for the opponent, but there are moments like that. We want to stay on this path of victories and we want to bring the Super Cup to Porto on Wednesday. It’s always a difficult match, but there are only three possible outcomes for us: win, win and win.”
Matheus Uribe
“We work to do what we did, to control the match most of the time. The coach asked us to press high and be decisive with the ball. In the first-half, we managed to do both better, but we also defended well in the second-half, when we had to defend. Fortunately, we got three more very important points. We are motivated and the work we do during the week is showing in the matches. These are results that motivate us and give us strength for what’s coming.”
