Viena showed herself to the Porto Nation on the International Women’s Day

On the International Women’s Day, FC Porto presented Viena, with the mascot showing the number 87 on her shirt, recalling that magical year in Vienna. Viena is the new female mascot of the club, and, together with Draco, promises to bring joy to everyone in the blue and white universe, wherever they are.

Draco is already known to everyone”, Tiago Gouveia, Marketing Director of FC Porto, stated. “This is a mascot that became successful next to everyone, young or old, present in many events of the club and even outside the club. Draco appears 150 times a year, with over 100 thousand followers on Instagram... He is obviously successful. I’m certain that the fans will also fall in love with Viena, and quickly”, the director added.

Tiago Gouveia revealed that the idea for Viena is not new: “We wanted to present her for quite some time now, and, in a way, we had to postpone it due to the pandemic, but here she is now, and this is a perfect way to present her, as we celebrate the role of women in society by presenting a female mascot.

What do we know about Viena?

She was born in Porto, but she belongs to the world. “I love to travel, I’ve even lived in other countries, and now I’m back to help the club in my heart”, she explained. Her name needs no presentations, but, just to be sure, she explained it: “My parents are also big FC Porto fans, and they named me Viena as homage to the first European title our club won”.

She sees herself as someone independent, which explains the way she looks at life: she’s been working since she was young, she’s sensitive to social causes, and she’s modern and an activist. That is, in fact, something she wants to look into as she joins FC Porto. “I’m looking forward to start working here, at the home of every Dragon, and, together with my friend Draco, I want to offer exciting moments to everyone”, she admitted.

Draco is an old friend of Viena’s. “We are childhood friends”, she explained, adding that the friendship will help her feel at home.

“Apart from the love to FC Porto, of course. You’ll never work a day in your life if you love what you do, and there is no greater love than the love for FC Porto”, Viena concluded.
