Marko Grujic and Matheus Uribe reflected on the defeat against Chelsea (2-0)

FC Porto lost to Chelsea 2-0, in Seville. Grujic stated that the team didn’t deserve “to concede two goals, especially in the second-half”, and that “anything is possible” in the round, whereas Uribe praised the performance of the team, agreeing that nothing is closed in terms of qualification:  “We did what the coaches asked of us, we did well in terms of tactic, very aggressive; they scored two goals, but this isn’t over yet”.

Marko Grujic
“It’s difficult to analyse this, as Chelsea got a good result, but we didn’t deserve to concede these two goals, especially in the second-half, when we had more opportunities and they were the ones scoring; it’s hard to explain. Next week, we meet here again, there’s no home factor. If they can score two goals, so can we, anything is possible, but we will have to play in Tondela before that and then be prepared for Seville, as nothing is impossible.”

Matheus Uribe
“It’s a bitter result for everything that happened on the pitch. In the first-half, we controlled the match, even if we weren’t efficient, but they scored on the only situation they had. In football, facing these teams is difficult, you make one mistake and they score. We did what the coaches asked of us, we did well in terms of tactic, very aggressive; they scored two goals, but this isn’t over yet. Our heads are raised, we have a team that can reverse this and there are 90 more minutes to give it all. With the quality of our players, we can reverse any situation, we just need to correct the mistakes we made and that we can never make against these teams.”
