Luis Díaz scored a goal and made an assist in FC Porto’s victory over Rio Ave (3-0), in Vila do Conde

This Saturday, FC Porto guaranteed the direct qualification to the group stage of the 2021/22 Champions League after beating Rio Ave away, 3-0, in matchday 33 of the championship. Luis Díaz, who scored the second goal for the Dragons before assisting Sérgio Oliveira for the final 3-0, praised the “great second-half” the Dragons had after reaching the break tied at 0-0.

A great second-half
“First of all, we have to congratulate the team, as we all did a great job and played a great match. We increased speed when we had to and lowered the pace when we had to. We played a great second-half and everyone gave their best to get this victory.”

Determination and attitude made the difference
“The first-half was good for Rio Ave, as they were able to play their game, but we already knew it was going to be a difficult match and that this is a complicated pitch. With determination and attitude, we got the result we wanted.”

Direct qualification to the Champions League
“Even though we didn’t reach our main objective, which was to become champions, we will start the Champions League directly.”
