FC Porto beat Boavista (4-1) at home in another derby at Porto

FC Porto beat Boavista again in another derby at Porto (4-1). Luis Díaz, Evanilson (twice) and Danny Loader scored the blue and white goals in matchday 10 of the championship. The victory allowed the Dragons to reach one year since the last defeat in the League.

In a first-half with only one direction, the blue and white attack crumbled Boavista’s defence on two occasions, but the first dangerous situation came from Luis Díaz’s right foot, eighth minutes in. The Colombian cut inside from the left and finished with a powerful shot that forced Alireza Beiranvand to a good save. The usual devil, with the number 7 on his back, would soon add his name to the list of scorers in the match: 20 minutes in, João Mário crossed from the right and Díaz headed for the first goal of the match.

Despite the first goal, FC Porto did not leave Boavista’s midfield and, two minutes later, Taremi passed to Evanilson, who, inside the area, was cleared pushed by Rodrigo Abascal and failed to finish in the best way. Tiago Martins and Nuno Almeida ignored it and signalled the match to continue. 30 minutes in, Boavista, in one of their rare attacks, tied the match, thanks to Hamache. The right fullback shot with power and Diogo Costa couldn’t stop it. The visitors created danger again 35 minutes in, in another counter-attack, but Diogo Costa was a wall in front of Musa and closed the blue and white goal. Five minutes before the break, the two blue and white forwards showed up again and, this time, with success: Taremi got the ball in front of the defenders and passed to Evanilson. The Brazilian, face to face with Alireza, didn’t hesitate and moved FC Porto ahead of the scoreboard again. Right after that, the number 30 for the Dragons returned the favour to Taremi, but the Iranian forward was offside when he got the pass and scored in style. FC Porto was in the lead at halftime, in an exciting match.

The second-half started with the third goal, a copy of the one scored 40 minutes in. Taremi, in front of the defenders, passed to Evanilson for the Brazilian forward to score his second goal. 51 minutes in, Evanilson tried to repay the two assists made by Taremi, with his heel, but Abascal tackled the Iranian forward in the area, with the referee and the VAR disregarding it. With 20 minutes to go, Vitinha passed to Taremi, who was pushed by Javi García still outside the area, but, once again, the referee signalled nothing and the match continued. Until the end of the match, Evanilson could have reached his hat-trick, but missed the goal after a great pass from Sérgio Oliveira. He was then replaced by Danny Loader, who made his debut at Estádio do Dragão and on the scoresheet, with goal with his heel in stoppage time, assisted by Luis Díaz.
