FC Porto won in Portimão, 3-0, in the opening match of matchday 13 of the championship
This Friday, FC Porto beat Portimonense (3-0), at Portimão Estádio, in the match that opened matchday 13 of the Portugal Bwin League. The victory started with an own goal from Pedro Sá (45m+3) and ended with the goals scored by Vitinha (70m) and Otávio (75m). FC Porto remains in the lead of the competition, with 35 points, the same as Sporting.
Portimonense went in fully motivated and had the first great opportunity toscore, but Diogo Costa was fantastic in the way he stopped Fabrício, alone in front of the goalkeeper following a bad clearance from Mbemba (6m). From then on, FC Porto was all over the place. That first sign of danger woke up the Dragons and the home team almost ceased to exist in terms of attack, given the blue and white superiority until the break. Luis Díaz, as always, almost opened the scoreboard in two consecutive plays (12m and 13m), but first he shot straight at the goalkeeper in the first and Pedrão saved the second. Given the many attacks for FC Porto, the goal seemed a matter of time.
In the last play of the first-half, after Evanilson was tackled just outside the area, Luis Díaz took the direct free-kick and a perfect deflection from Pedro Sá put FC Porto in the lead (45m+3). The home midfielder left Samuel Portugal powerless to stop the shot, just before Manuel Oliveira signaled for the break. The second-half started with Fahd Moufi denying Mbemba the 2-0, almost on the goal line, in a corner-kick taken by Vitinha, with Otávio coming up on the near post (48m). It didn’t work that time, but it would happen again later.
After Fali Candé forced Diogo Costa to save a long shot (65m), FC Porto finally got more comfort on the scoreboard: Luis Díaz started the play, which also included Mehdi Taremi and Evanilson, and Vitinha finished it with great skill, scoring his first goal for the first team in official matches (70m). Only five minutes later, in another display of the tremendous quality this FC Porto has been showing, Otávio, receiving the pass from Taremi, did a phenomenal lob over Samuel Portugal (75m). It was the icing on the cake of another great victory for the blue and whites.
