FC Porto beat Belenenses SAD away, with Evanilson scoring three goals and Taremi one (4-1)

13 consecutive victories for FC Porto in the championship. At the start of the second turn of the competition, the leader of the table went to Oeiras to beat Belenenses SAD 4-1, after conceding an early goal. In their fifth comeback in the current season, the blue and whites had in Evanilson/Mehdi Taremi their top scorer duo. The former scored a hat-trick, the latter made it count for the third consecutive match, with Fábio Vieira also making a name for himself, with three assists in the same match for the second time in this edition of the League.

Banned from the bench, Sérgio Conceição was forced to make a number of changes in the starting team, sending in Bruno Costa, Pepê and Fábio Vieira. The problem is that the Dragons had a bar start and Camará scored, 13 minutes, with the blue and whites only having one real chance, which Vítor Ferreira was unable to score. Thirty minutes in, Sithole ran over Fábio Vieira and was sent-off for his yellow card. The Dragons, with one more man on the pitch, tied after a shot from Fábio Vieira that Evanilson received and made it count with his left foot. Facing the last team in the table, the blue and white coach sent in Mehdi Taremi to replace Bruno Costa and excitement was plenty until the break: after Evanilson missed a certain goal, preceded by an almost own goal by Belenenses SAD, Taremi headed the ball into the net, but Manuel Mota somehow saw a foul on Tomás Ribeiro and stopped the play before the ball went in, thus preventing the VAR from analysing the footage.

With the match tied, FC Porto returned for the second-half as determined to win as always or even more, and a cross/shot from Fábio Vieira from the right almost hit the far post. And as youngsters seem to be the trend, Francisco Conceição replaced Vitinha before the hour mark, and went a match he had. The first time he touched the ball, Chico beat the defence, passed to Evanilson and, after an excellent work in his natural habitat, the Brazilian forward completed the turnaround (2-1). Pretty much on the following play, the number 50 set up Taremi with a fantastic pass. The Iranian forward had the calmness to extend the lead and left the team more comfortable on the scoreboard. 77 minutes in, Luis Díaz was tackled in the area for a penalty and made a point of taking it, but Luiz Felipe won the one on one and kept the result at 3-1. After a triple change that included the debuts of youngsters João Mendes and Gonçalo Borges in the championship, Fábio Vieira and Evanilson reached their respective hat-tricks. The young Portuguese international took a corner-kick on the left and the Brazilian Olympian international jumped above everyone else to set the match at 4-1, allowing FC Porto to remain in the lead, 3 points ahead of the second in the table, before facing Famalicão at home, same time next Sunday.
