After the tie without goals against Inter, at Estádio do Dragão, FC Porto failed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, as the Italian team had won 1-0 in Milan. After the 2nd leg, Sérgio Conceição has no doubt that the national champions were always on top and deserved better luck in the tie: "Inter was only better for 10 minutes in the entire round, when we were down to 10 players. Apart from that, we were always better. We were a very dedicated and strategically capable team, realizing how we could condition the opponent."

The resume of the match 
"We were very competent in both matches and we were better, but we didn't do the most important thing: score goals. The players are to be congratulated, as they played an excellent match. Inter was only better for 10 minutes in the entire round, and that was when we were down to 10 players. We were always better. We were a very dedicated and strategically capable team, realizing how we could condition the opponent. As FC Porto is a historic club, we did everything to be up to the challenge, but we are also aware that, at times and in some details, we lacked some experience. We've created a lot of plays, but unfortunately we weren't able to score. Congratulations to my working group. Unfortunately we didn't qualify, but we earned it."

The opponent managing the lead 
"Inter came here in a low block, waiting for a mistake from us, and trying to take advantage of spaces that we might open up. We were always balanced and didn’t allow them to do much. We had two occasions to score in the first half and even more in the second. We were always a pressing and intense team. We knew Inter well, but I admit that I was expecting more from a team with such individual quality. We were clearly better. It's a mixture of pride and frustration, because I feel the same as the 50,000 fans that were at the stadium and as my players. All the work we do here is ignored. With what we have, and after several years under the financial fair play measures set by UEFA, the work we have done at FC Porto is little recognized."

Pepe out
"He ended the match against Estoril in difficulty. He was under treatment to this day and he still tried to play, but unfortunately he wasn't able to. It is a small injury that will be clarified by the medical staff."

Two more trophies to win 
"We have more two titles to play for. The players are frustrated and sad. If someone cries, that's good, it's a sign of dedication and passion. The players have to be proud of the two matches they played, because we were only inferior to Inter for 10 minutes, when we were outnumbered."
