Sérgio Conceição took the responsibility for the result at Estoril (3-1)

FC Porto will no longer be able to defend the title in the League Cup, after losing away to Estoril (3-1), who had beaten Leixões in the first match and thus qualified to the Final Four. After the defeat at Amoreira, Sérgio Conceição admitted that "FC Porto's coach failed", explained that the team lacked "the competence to score" and gave "merit to Estoril" for the result. “We don't have to raise our head. We have to lower it, understand what didn’t go well and we have to do more, starting with me, so that we do not lose games like this. There was a lot I didn't like, starting with what I could have done and didn't do as a coach", he concluded.

What failed?
“FC Porto's coach failed, because we lost. At crucial moments, we didn’t have the competence to score and then Estoril always went up witn danger for the attack, quickly. There was a lot that went wrong, blame the coach, credit to Estoril who is in the Final Four for the first time and deserved it.”

Are decisive games coming?
“The next game is the most important, this one is over and there is no need to raise our head. We have to lower it, understand what didn’t go well and we have to do more, starting with me, so that we don’t lose games like this. There was a lot I didn't like, starting with what I could have done and didn't do as a coach.

What could you have done more?
"These are situations that I discuss in the locker room."

Are the youngsters the future?
“From what I saw today, we have to bet more and more on the players of the B team and the under-19s, if needed. We have a range of professionals at FC Porto that is not limited to the main squad.”
