Evanilson and Fábio Cardoso praised the merit of the group in the 2-0 victory over SC Braga

FC Porto won with authority the big game that ended the first turn of the championship. Back at Estádio do Dragão more than two weeks later, the blue and whites beat SC Braga, 2-0, with the goals scored by Fábio Cardoso and Evanilson. After the match, the forward, named MVP by the League, was "happy to have helped with another goal" and even "happier for the three points", while the central defender praised the "merit of the whole team" and recalled that "we will look at our points after the season is over".

Evanilson
“It was a great job from the entire team, we knew the difficulties we would face as SC Braga has quality. We worked with that in mind and I'm glad I helped with one more goal. Now we have to keep working and build on this. It was a very busy game between two quality teams and I'm very happy for the three points.”

Fábio Cardoso
“We prepared well for this game, as we do for every other game. We knew it was an opponent with great quality, but we wanted to show our own quality to our fans. Merit to the whole team, as we defended and attacked very well, but the job is done and now we think only of the next game. I missed celebrating a goal, especially here at home. We have to stay on this path, we know that not everything is okay and that not everything was wrong. Victory is all that matters to us, we focus game by game and we will look at our points in the end.”

Wendell
“I think we went in well, we had 30 very strong minutes, then we moved back a little to defend but we stayed on top. They had a chance saved by Diogo, we played a competent game, focused, showed what we worked on during the week and achieved a very important victory. We worked well, the coach told us their strengths and we were able to counter them. I hope to continue like this and that we will be able to maintain this defensive concentration. Evanilson has scored goals, he has helped us win and I am happy for him, for everything he has been through and that is he now scoring. I thank God and hope that we will continue like this until the end of the season, to achieve our goal.”
