FC Porto lost at home to Vitória de Guimarães (2-1) for matchday 28 of the League

FC Porto lost this Sunday to Vitória de Guimarães (2-1), at Estádio do Dragão, for matchday 28 of the Portuguese League. Galeno (44m) scored the only goal for the Dragons, who are still third in the table, with 58 points, 13 behind the leader Sporting, who a game in hand.

With four news in the starting team in comparison to the one that started the first match of the week against Vitória de Guimarães, FC Porto played a very affirmative game and even had a penalty over Galeno which was ignored by referee Fábio Veríssimo and the VAR (4m), so it is not surprising that the visitors were the first to score. Following a free-kick taken by Tomás Handel, Galeno deflected the ball and ended up beating Diogo Costa, giving Guimarães the advantage (12m). In the next play, Alan Varela put Bruno Varela's reflexes to the test (19m), but Vitória de Guimarães was the one scoring again, when Jota Silva successfully finished a quick counterattack by the team led by coach Álvaro Pacheco (33m).

Without doing anything to justify a 2-0 advantage, Vitória de Guimarães was stopping the blue and white attacks as much as they could, but they were powerless to avoid the 2-1 scored by Galeno, ending an excellent offensive play from the Dragons to end the first half (44m). After the break, Francisco Conceição was centimetres from the tie (55m) and Iván Jaime watched as Bruno Varela did a great save to his shot (67m). The task was already hard, but got even more difficult when Fábio Veríssimo showed the red card to Pepe, allegedly for words addressed by the captain to the referee from Leiria (69m). Until the final whistle, Mehdi Taremi had a header that missed the target after a corner kick taken by Francisco Conceição (71m).
