Nico González regretted the wasted “opportunities to tie or win” against Vitória SC (2-1)

Four days after winning at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques, in the first leg of the semi-final of the Portuguese Cup, FC Porto lost at Estádio do Dragão, against the same Vitória de Guimarães (2-1), in matchday 28 of the championship. After the final whistle, with Pepe having been sent-off with a red card for his gestures in the direction of referee Fábio Veríssimo, Nico González regretted the several wasted “opportunities to tie or win” and admitted: “We didn't rise to the occasion and we have to do more”.

Efficacy and lack of efficacy
"The first half did not go well, they scored in the first two shots they had and it was hard for us. We had opportunities to tie or win, but they resisted and we weren’t able to score.”

Need to raise the bar
“We have to try to win every game. We know that we can beat any opponent, in the last games for the League we were not up to it and we have to do more to win. I'm convinced it's possible.”
