The blue and white players praised the fairness of the victory over Vitória de Guimarães (3-1)

FC Porto qualified for the final of the Portuguese Cup – where they will face Sporting –, after beating Vitória de Guimarães (3-1), at Estádio do Dragão, in the 2nd leg of the semi-finals. After the match, Alan Varela, Francisco Conceição and Pepê praised the way the blues and whites reacted to Vitória's early goal and have no doubt that FC Porto is a fair finalist of the Portuguese Cup.

Alan Varela
“The team did very well. We started behind, but we kept calm, we won the game and we are in the final, which is what we wanted. We controlled the game well and deserved to win. The team is well, although the last results were not what we wanted, but we are united. We know we're going to have a big rival in the final, but when the time comes we'll think about it.”

Francisco Conceição
“We’re coming from a difficult period and, unfortunately, things haven’t been going well in recent games. We started this game with a goal conceded, but we showed that to play for this club, you have to give it all. That's what we did. We managed to turn around with zero questions, showing good football and scoring goals. We did the normal thing at this club, which is winning and reaching a final. Now we want this title. The goal conceded could have caused the team to go down a negative spiral again and lost control, but we showed a great attitude. We really want to win this competition, as this club requires titles and we can't imagine a season without titles. We are a very strong group and we all get along very well. We have to keep the union and go in search of the missing victories.”

Pepê
“It's a very important victory, because we came from negative results. Playing at home, we felt we owed more to ourselves and to our fans. We started with a goal conceded, but we kept our peace and played a good game. We are fair winners and we are in the final, which is what we wanted. We knew that by doing what we worked on, we would be able to turn the score around. Every final is important and a club like FC Porto fights for every title.”
