FC Porto only needed 32 minutes to score four goals against Al Nassr (4-0)
FC Porto returned home and did it with a 4-0 victory, achieved between minute 18 and 45+5 minutes, against Al Nassr, the team of Alex Telles, Otávio and Luís Castro. In the first home match of the 2024/25 season, the last preparation match before the Super Cup, the blue and whites repeated the best result achieved in presentation games at Estádio do Dragão (against Deportivo, in 2017) and left good signs for next Saturday's Classic in Aveiro (20h15, RTP1).
Vítor Bruno repeated the bet on Martim Fernandes in the left wing of the defence and in a midfield with three - Marko Grujic, Alan Varela and Nico González - and the Serbian was the first one to create danger, following a shot that passed near the goal. 18 minutes in, the Spanish midfielder did the best with an excellent cross from João Mário and opened the scoreboard (1-0).
The second goal came soon after, when Iván Jaime aimed at the near post and made it count with ease (2-0). After the hydration break, well needed considering the temperature of 28 degrees, Nico benefited from a defective clearance by the well-known Otávio to score his second (3-0). Until the break there was still time for Cláudio Ramos to deny the only visiting chance and for Gonçalo Borges to make it 4-0 from a penalty.
The team that returned from the locker room was exactly the same, just with a different kit, with Nico trying to score his hat-trick, but without success. Vítor Bruno did six substitutions at the hour mark, sending in Samuel Portugal and Rodrigo Mora before the stands filled by over 47,000 fans and also sent in Vasco Sousa, André Franco, Galeno and Toni Martínez. Ten minutes later, at 74, the blue and white coach changed the central defenders with Fábio Cardoso and David Carmo, and Samuel Portugal was there to stop a shot.
In the last moments of a long-decided match, Gabriel Brás also debuted at Estádio do Dragão, Gonçalo Sousa and Fran Navarro went in side by side with the young defender and matched for the last dangerous play, but the Spanish forward hit an opponent placed on top of the goal line. After the presentations were made and the pre-season was over, it is now time to focus on Sporting.
