João Mário, the MVP Liga Portugal, talked of a first half without great opportunities, but, in the second half, everything was different: "In the second half, we went in strong, we knew how to take advantage of the opportunities and we deserved this victory", the right fullback stated.

Match analysis
“We knew Arouca could be coming with closed lines and we had to move the ball well, but, in the first half, we didn't have many opportunities. In the second half, we came in strong, we knew how to take advantage of the opportunities and we deserve this victory.”

Everything changed in the second half
“With Arouca outnumbered, we knew we had to take a chance. The coach decided to send in one more forward to have more presence in the area and it worked. We managed to finish the opportunities we had and won, which was the most important thing.”

Manchester United is coming
“The championship is always our main objective and we had to give a strong response after the last game. We have to learn from mistakes and look ahead. Now we want to put on a good performance against Manchester United, in front of our fans. It is a bigger game, against a European giant, but we have our strengths and we will try to exploit that. We’re playing to win like we always do.”
