Nico González regretted the tie with Manchester United (3-3), but feels there is still a lot of Europa League to play

After falling behind 0-2, FC Porto turned the scoreboard around against Manchester United and looked set for victory in matchday 2 of the league stage of the Europa League, but the English team reached the tie in stoppage time (3-3). After the match, Nico González feels that the Dragons and the way they reacted to the disadvantage was “very good”, which is why that “last corner-kick” was too punishing. “We can beat any team, so we have to keep working”, the Spanish midfielder added.

Three points lost
“The game was very balanced, they started well, with two goals, but we reacted very well. This last corner-kick punished us and stopped our turnaround, which would have been epic, but everyone worked well.”

The opening minutes
“I don't know if anything was missing, but maybe we could have been better at the start of the game. Anyway, we reacted well. They put tall, powerful people at the end and ended up scoring in a corner.”

The numbers in the Europa League
“There are still six games left in this Europa League and we know that we depend on ourselves. This match gives us confidence, as Manchester United is one of the favourites, just like us, and we were able to see the level we had against a European giant. We can beat any team, so we have to keep working.”
