Stephen Eustáquio scored in the victory over Moreirense (2-0) and was named MVP Liga Portugal
FC Porto beat Moreirense (2-0) at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro on Thursday and qualified for the League Cup Final Four, where they will face Sporting in the semi-finals. Stephen Eustáquio, the scorer of the second goal and the MVP Liga Portugal, highlighted the absolute dominance of the Dragons after the first goal and left a guarantee: “We are eager to win this trophy”. The League Cup Final Four will take place between January 4 and 11 of next year at the Estádio Municipal Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria.
Used to scoring in the League Cup
“It's a special competition for me, as I had the pleasure of scoring in the Final Four in the year we won the League Cup, FC Porto's first. I am happy to have scored again and to help the team reach the Final Four again. We are looking forward to winning this trophy.”
The commitment of the entire team
“We made some changes and when you change four or five players, the dynamics can be hard to get into the game, and some players don't speak Portuguese as well, but the team was very committed. It took us a while to get into the game, but after the first goal, we absolutely dominated the game. The substitutes that came in from the bench also helped a lot and we got a strong victory here.”
Sporting is coming in the semi-finals
“It's a tough opponent, of course, but we've beaten them and we've beaten them in an epic way. In the league, they are in the lead, but these are games we always like to play. We are strong enough to beat Sporting.”
