Galeno and Fábio Vieira scored against Anderlecht (2-2) in matchday 5 of the Europa League

FC Porto had the lead on two occasions in Brussels, but Anderlecht managed to respond and the end result led to one point for each team (2-2). Galeno and Fábio Vieira scored for the Dragons, who now have five points in the Europa League.

Vítor Bruno changed five players in comparison to the team that faced Moreirense, sending in Diogo Costa, Otávio, Eustáquio, Galeno and Samu and saw the team concede in the first seconds, but Dolberg's goal was disallowed for offside.

Resisting the early attacks of the home team, the Dragons put goalkeeper Coosemans' reflexes to the test nine minutes in. Galeno ran on the left, Francisco Moura crossed to the far post, and Pepê passed to Eustáquio, with the midfielder shooting with power into the hands of the goalkeeper. Nico González, in a header, also tried his luck, but to no avail.

The moment of the first half came 24 minutes in. Pepê took a corner on the right and, after a fight in the air on the near post, the ball ended in the second, where Francisco Moura headed it before being kicked in the face by Degreef. After protests from the blue and white bench, VAR Luca Pairetto warned referee Morten Krogh about the foul and, after watching the footage, the penalty was given, which Galeno scored. The Belgian goalkeeper guessed where the shot was going, but the power and placement didn't give him any chance (1-0).

Moving up on the pitch, FC Porto aimed at conditioning Anderlecht's attacks - which chose the wings to try to hurt the Dragons - and again created danger in a lab play. From a free kick, the ball was sent to Samu, who controlled it in the area and passed to Pepê, but the number 11 shot at the goalkeeper. By the end of the first half, Nico González was shown a yellow card that bans him from facing Midtjylland and Dendoncker tested the reflexes of Diogo Costa, who saved it.

Also with a yellow card, João Mário was replaced by Martim Fernandes at halftime, and the break was clearly a dynamo for Anderlecht. The hosts improved in the second half, Rits hit the post (47m) and passed to Degreef for the tie 52 minutes in, after recovering the ball next to the blue and white defence (1-1).

In search of the three points, the Dragons pushed forward and watched as N’Diaye stepped on Martim Fernandes in the area (60m), which prompted protests from Vítor Bruno, who saw the yellow card. 74 minutes in, came a stroke of genius from Galeno, dribbling three opponents out of the way and passing to Eustáquio, proceeded to Pepê, who crossed to Samu. Coosemans was quick to clear the ball and out of Nico's reach, already away from the posts. In another individual play, soon after, the number 13 entered the area from the left and aimed at the far post, but the ball went centimetres from the goal.

Minutes after Gonçalo Borges replaced Pepê, the coach sent in Fábio Vieira, who only needed a few seconds to score. The left-handed midfielder received from Nico González in the middle, shot with his right foot and placed the ball near the post (2-1). The lead, however, lasted only four minutes and the match was tied in a shot from Amuzu (2-2, 86m).

In the last seconds, Gonçalo Borges tried on the right, dribbled two opponents out of the way and shot low, but Coosemans saved it and held on to the tie (2-2).
