Nico González considers that the outcome of the match against Anderlecht (2-2) is unfair

With “more head and patience”, FC Porto could have left Brussels with the victory, but ended up drawing 2-2 against Anderlecht in matchday 5 of the Europa League. For Nico González, the Dragons have been “too punished by mistakes” and the Belgians did not create enough to have scored two goals. "Sometimes football is unfair and today it was to us", the Spanish midfielder stated.

Unfair result
“We lacked more head and patience. Maybe we sped up too much in the last few minutes and that gave them opportunities. We did better, but they took advantage of a couple of our mistakes throughout the game.”

Punishing errors
“In recent games, we have been very punished by mistakes. They didn't create enough opportunities to have scored two goals.”

Difficult pitch
“We came to a difficult pitch and faced a strong team, which already has 11 points. Away from home in Europe is always tricky, but I think we were better and that we deserved the victory. Sometimes football is unfair and today it was unfair to us.”

Pepê
“For us, Pepê is a key player, he gives us a lot in every game. It was a mistake anyone could make. His commitment and work are an example for all of us. In the end of it all we are a family and a united team. If a player is disappointed or upset, they should always be supported.”
