Eustáquio believes that FC Porto should have achieved a more relaxed victory against Midtjylland (2-0)
Returning to victories in the Europa League after beating Midtjylland (2-0), at Estádio do Dragão, in matchday 6 of the competition, FC Porto continues to fight to qualify to the next stage. For Stephen Eustáquio, the blue and whites had opportunities "to score more goals", but, as that didn't happen, "the result felt short and we ran the risk of conceding". "It was a very important victory, we still haven't lost at home and this gives us motivation for the championship", the Canadian international midfielder stated.
Winning was essential
“It was important for us to win and we managed to do it. Without taking any credit from the team, it was almost bare minimum, as we had opportunities to score more goals. We have to work on that and finish more. We create opportunities and then we try an extra dribble or we just don't shoot. And then the result feels short and we ran the risk of conceding.”
Increase effectiveness in finishing
“If we end up finishing our opportunities, the result will be different and the opponent's motivation to attack will not be the same either, in addition to us feeling more solid. We have to be focused from the first to the last minute, we have to grow on that too.”
The numbers in the Europa League
“We needed these three points and we got them. It was a very important victory, we still haven't lost at home and this gives us motivation for the championship. We're going after what's ours.”
