Martín Anselmi's comments after Estoril 1-2 FC Porto

FC Porto turned the game around at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota and beat Estoril 2-1 on matchday 27 of the league. In the aftermath of "a real afternoon of football", during which "the fans came out in force and everyone supported", Martín Anselmi made a point of "praising the attitude, bravery, will and commitment of the players who gave everything to get the victory", especially Rodrigo Mora, a 17-year-old "who trains well, plays well, is humble and works hard" and for whom the Argentinian coach predicts a bright future: "As long as he continues on this path, he'll achieve everything he sets out to".

Rocky start
"We started very well, finding depth as we had trained during the week, behind their three centre-backs and finding Fábio, Pepê and Mora well. It was unfair to concede first because Estoril hadn't even had a shot on goal yet. Coming from behind against an opponent that plays well isn't easy, but I'd like to praise the attitude, courage, will and commitment of the players, who gave everything to get the win."

The changes
"They changed in the second half, they started attacking with a line of four and I think it was more a tactical adjustment than a name change. As we had to defend, we wanted to go to two forwards to defend, with Mora and Samu, we managed to do it, we understood that there was no need to change any players, that they could create danger and go in search of the third goal. As the game went on I thought that Pepê and Mora had left everything on the pitch, that it was time to change again and take care of the width a bit, because they had two players in each wing. We decided to go back to the original plan and, from then on, I think we controlled the game well."

Rodrigo Mora
"It was a nice goal because it was our second, and gave us the lead. We have to look after Rodrigo very well, he's a kid who still has to grow up and keep working to stay on this path. I'm very happy for him because he deserves it, he trains well, he plays well, he's humble and he works hard. As long as he stays on this path, he'll achieve everything he sets out to."

Consecutive wins
"We won two games in a row for the first time and we were able to give our people this joy because we felt their support throughout the game. The fans came out in huge numbers on a real football afternoon, when the sun went down and everyone supported. It reminded me of when I was a teenager and my dad used to take me to the football. And that's football, Sunday afternoons with our people and a win."

Next week brings a Classic
"It's definitely going to be a special week. Now we're going to savour the victory a little and, starting tomorrow, we'll start thinking about the game against Benfica."

Positive signs
"It's not easy to play against this team, on this pitch, not least because Estoril has done things very well this year. We played the game we wanted to play, we had several chances to score, we played well in depth, we were intense and quick to take advantage of their centre-backs, as we had trained. They also tried to be aggressive at the start and we changed the way we played, which gave us some advantages. We did things well, got the lead and saw a lot of growth, not only through the result, but also through the work we put in. I really like this feeling of fulfilment. I would have preferred to see a clean sheet and I think we deserved it, but we were unlucky. I see a lot of growth and that makes me very happy."

Winning streak
"Winning twice in a row gives you a lot of confidence. Victories affirm our will, our confidence, our desire and, above all, our work. Since I've been here, we've had 11 games and only four of them have been at home. Now our schedule gives us more time to establish our ideas. So far there hasn't been a single game in which we haven't competed and our rivals have comprehensively outplayed us. We're growing and improving."

Busy medical department
"Everything has happened to us since we got here. At first we didn't have Nehuen and Samu to go to Serbia, then Pepê got injured, then Mora, we've had games without João Mário, Martim Fernandes, Fábio Vieira... We've only had the full squad for a fortnight. And it's obvious that the good players are missed, I really like having them available to play together."

Danny Namaso's absence
"He was with us here, but we decided he should sit out because he arrived later than the other internationals. We have a lot of players, they're all good, someone has to be left out. It was him, but it could have been another forward. We decided it would be him because he arrived late, hadn't trained with us as much and had a long journey with several stopovers over the last week."
