FC Porto lost to CF Estrela (2-0) for matchday 31 of the Portuguese league
FC Porto was defeated by Estrela da Amadora at the Estádio José Gomes (2-0) for matchday 31 of the Portuguese league. With this result, Porto is still at 62 points, two behind third-placed SC Braga (64).
Cláudio Ramos took over the goal in the absence of the injured Diogo Costa and did his first save five minutes. After two more dangerous shots on goal, one saved by Marcano and the other by the post, Zé Pedro had a powerful shot that went over goalkeeper João Costa's top bar, and then Deniz Gül forced the goalkeeper, a former youngster of the Dragons, to save a shot near the post, but the home team scored before the break (1-0).
The Turkish international forward didn't return for the second half, as Samu replaced him, Alan Varela was shown a yellow card that bans him from game against Moreirense and Estoril doubled their lead with a penalty just after the hour mark (2-0).
Francisco Moura and Eustáquio were replaced by Martim Fernandes and William Gomes, Rodrigo Mora tried to surprise the opposing goalkeeper and Kikas did the same to Cláudio Ramos. Pepê was then replaced by Danny Namaso, João Costa denied Varela a goal, André Franco replaced the Argentinian midfielder and Jovane hit the bar close to the final whistle.
