Stephen Eustáquio discussed the Club World Cup after the tie against Al Ahly (4-4)
FC Porto said goodbye to the Club World Cup after tying against Al Ahly (4-4) at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Tuesday, in the third and final matchday of Group A. After a game in which “we scored and conceded immediately afterwards”, Stephen Eustáquio spoke of “difficult moments” that can't happen “in a tournament like this”. “We were warned enough to look at every game as if it were our last and at times we were Porto, but it was not enough”, the Canadian international midfielder added.
A summary of the game and the Club World Cup
“It's difficult, these were three games in which we weren't worthy of Porto. Against Inter Miami we were a team that chased the result and then ended up conceding a goal, today we scored and then conceded straight after. These are difficult moments that a team can't have in a tournament like this. We were warned enough to approach every game as if it were our last and at times we were Porto, but it was not enough. There's not much to say.”
