Francesco Farioli considered Porto's performance in the victory in Barcelos (2-0) to be “good”

FC Porto added three more points in the League after beating Gil Vicente (2-0) on Monday at Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, closing matchday two. Aware that “there are things to improve”, Franceso Farioli believes that the team's performance “was good” and that they had “good moments creating scoring opportunities”. For the Italian coach, who promised “hard work and good spirit” to the blue and white fans, not conceding goals “is a key factor in being solid”.

Solid performance and fair victory
“The last two years have been very difficult here for FC Porto, but today we played a solid game and had good moments creating scoring opportunities. Of course, there are things to improve, we have to increase consistency in the game, but overall our performance was good.”

Samu's injury
“When a teammate gets injured, it's always an emotional moment for the team. For now, we have no idea about the injury, tomorrow we will assess the situation better.”

Luuk de Jong's entrance
“Luuk went in well, with good momentum. He works hard for the team and almost made an assist for Rodrigo Mora in the final stages. It was positive.”

Rodrigo Mora's debut
“It was good, but it's never just about one player, even though he had a good chance to score. There are several players we could talk about, such as Zaidu or Alan Varela. It's about everyone, about the team.”

Pepê's good form
“He's been doing very well, but my assessment had already been made before this. He's had some very good years here, last season he had some problems, but that's part of football. When I met him, I met a player with desire, energy and a big smile on his face. When that's the case, it also makes his teammates and the coach smile.”

Another game without conceding goals
“It's absolutely important. It's a key factor to being solid. We've conceded a few things, but we know that there are also things to improve in the defence.”

Always at full throttle
“That's how we are, how we train and how we want to play. We have to keep the pace high, but we're all still adapting to that. If we want to improve, we have to stress the system.”

A promise to the fans
“Hard work and good spirit.”

The transfer market is still open
“We are open to analysing any situations that may arise in the last few days, but my focus is on the pitch and preparing for the next game.”
