Victor Froholdt reacted to the defeat in “the most difficult game so far” in 2025/26

In the “toughest game so far” this season, FC Porto lost 2-0 in England and kept the six points they had already earned in the opening two matchdays of the Europa League. “It was a hard-fought game, but they showed they have Premier League quality”, Victor Froholdt began, certain that the team always wants to “win”, but suffered “two penalties” and failed to score.

It is time to “look ahead” and continue “a great season”, the Danish international midfielder added, who promises hard work and a group that will “come back stronger” to “give everything on Monday” in Moreira de Cónegos (20h00, TVI).

The difficulties experienced at City Ground
“It was the most difficult game we've played so far. It was a hard-fought game, but they showed they have Premier League quality. We conceded two penalties, and to win we have to avoid that. Still, we can take positives from it. Now we have to focus on the league games we have to play and then think about the next European match.”

Looking ahead
“We always want to win, but today we conceded two penalties and failed to score. Maybe they deserved this result, but we will work hard and come back stronger. We’re having a great season and now we need to look ahead to continue.”

The strength of the opponent
“We faced a Premier League team, they had the crowd behind them, but we knew what we were up against, a team that plays direct and goes for second balls. To beat an English team, we have to be at our best, and perhaps we weren't.”

The message to the fans
“We'll give it our all on Monday.”
