FC Porto secured their tenth victory in the League (1-0) and remains alone at the top of the table
Celoricense, Nottingham Forest, Moreirense, Utrecht and Famalicão away, SC Braga at home. FC Porto ended a demanding cycle, played mainly away from home, precisely as visitors and with a 1-0 victory - the tenth in eleven league games and the eighth without conceding a goal - which guarantees that they remain alone at the top of the league, now with 31 points. In Minho, Victor Froholdt scored the only goal of the match in the first half.
The Dragons pressed hard from the first second and Froholdt fell in the area in the 17th minute after contact from behind by Ibrahima Ba without any consequences - José Bessa consulted VAR Vasco Santos, but the decision to continue the game remained unchanged. Carević denied Samu the first goal of the afternoon (3m), as he would do again in the 33rd minute, and Mora and Moura saw the ball graze the post with two powerful shots in the opening ten minutes.
Jan Bednarek left the field in pain (19m) and was replaced by Pablo Rosario, who, once on the pitch, saw Zabiri hit Diogo Costa's post and celebrated Victor Froholdt's accurate shot in the 35th minute: Rodrigo Mora received the ball on the left and passed to Francisco Moura, who, at speed, went to the line and crossed into the heart of the area, where the Danish international midfielder appeared unmarked to finish with a voley. Unsatisfied with their lead, Francesco Farioli's men could have increased the gap with a quick transition, but William shot over the bar and the narrow margin remained until half time.
After a start to the second half that had the ball stay away from either goal, Gabri Veiga and Borja Sainz replaced Rodrigo Mora and William Gomes (57m). In the 66th minute, from a direct free kick, the number 10 played a low ball to Samu, who chipped Carević, but saw Pedro Bondo deny him the goal on the line. In the 72nd minute, following a run by Pablo Rosario, the striker was denied a 2-0 lead by the Montenegrin goalkeeper, who also stretched to stop Alberto Costa's shot (77m).
The two were replaced by Martim Fernandes and Deniz Gül (81m), who came on with the resilience needed to defend a narrow lead until the final whistle, which was scarce in terms of the chances created, but valuable for the national championship standings before another break for international commitments, the third in the last three months.
