FC Porto scored two goals in 86 seconds and strengthened their lead in the championship in Tondela (2-0)

FC Porto went to Tondela and beat the local team 2-0, increasing their lead over Sporting and Benfica to five and eight points respectively. After a first half with no goals, the Dragons scored twice in quick succession and settled the matter in 86 seconds thanks to Samu and William Gomes' sense of opportunity. On matchday 13, the leaders of the Portuguese League have 12 wins, one draw, 27 goals scored and three conceded.

Francesco Farioli changed the entire team except for Alan Varela, and the team went after the Second Division champions early on. In the sixth minute, after Pepê opened up the play, Francisco Moura crossed and the home goalkeeper was almost betrayed by a deflection between the home central defenders. In the 12th minute, after another opening by Pepê, Bernardo Fontes made another save to stop a shot by Samu from practically no angle.

The visitors came close to the blue and white goal on two occasions, both finished by Jordan Siebatcheu - first following a corner-kick and then in a persistent move that Diogo Costa took care of stopping. Just after the half-hour mark, William Gomes turned his opponents inside out and fired with his right foot, but the home keeper was again on hand to save it.

Three minutes later, in the 33rd minute, Samu regained possession in the final third of the pitch, Froholdt worked his way through the defence and the ball passed through the feet of the Spanish international before falling to William and Rodrigo Mora, who made no mistake in front of goal. After reviewing the play, Luís Godinho flagged FC Porto's number 86 for offside.

Justice was restored at the start of the second half. Just three minutes after returning from the dressing rooms, Rodrigo Mora took a corner from the right, Kiwior headed towards goal and Samu scored his 11th goal of the season on the rebound, dedicating it to his teammate Luuk de Jong (0-1). After the restart, CD Tondela tried to rebuild from the back, but FC Porto's suffocating pressure had devastating effects and William Gomes only had to tap in after stealing the ball from the visiting goalkeeper (0-2).

With a two-goal lead, Francesco Farioli brought on Pablo Rosario and Borja Sainz to replace Mora and William. Samu came close to scoring again in the 77th minute and was immediately replaced by Pepê, making way for Ángel Alarcón and Deniz Gül, before Martim Fernandes replaced Alberto Costa in the final stretch (82m).
